Ep 182: Play-Based Speech Sound Sessions for Prek w/Deborah Brooks

In this episode, Deborah Books shares tips for intervention sessions for preschool students with speech sound disorders.

Goals:

Will use two-word phrases (i.e. red ball, eat cookie) in 80% of opportunities during structured play activities

Will produce CVC words with accurate final consonants with 80% accuracy. 

Will answer questions and ask questions with peers and adults during daily routines with ¾ accuracy 

Will produce “ee” (vowel in: eat, need) and “ih” (vowel in: in)  vowel in structured play activities with 80% accuracy 

Will produce /p, b, t, d/ in all positions of words in structured play with 80% activities. 

Will produce VC (on, in) and CV (me, tea) in structured play activities with 80% accuracy. 

Will produce “ah” vowel (hot, pot, on) in structured play activities with 80% accuracy. 

Will describe pictures in stories with 2-3 word phrases, use 2-3 words to make requests, respond to “Do you want ___?” questions in 4/5 opportunities 

Will answer the question “What’s that?” with 3/5 accuracy with a verbal cue and verbal model.
