SLP Happy Hour Trauma Course Graphic 1

Trauma impacts two thirds of children by age 16. The humans we work with daily are impacted by trauma.

Given this past year (plus some) of pandemic, your learners need trauma-informed spaces to interact, play and learn.

SLP Happy Hour Trauma Course Graphic 2

We see humans daily who are dealing with trauma. We want to provide a supportive space to grow and learn for the people we work with.

This course supports SLPs with research, evidence and practical strategies to become more trauma informed.

We don’t treat trauma. But we can provide a supportive place for our learners to play, grow and learn. This course distills down trauma-informed practices into a helpful and practical course that gives you what you need to know (and none of the stuff you don’t).
As an SLP, you are busy. This course sticks to the relevant and practical information you need.

Important Information

What is the format of the course?

This course is presented in video lessons, with printable handouts and journal prompts. FYI, this class is lo-fi, meaning videos are unedited and handouts are simple and streamlined. This course is independent study, is pre-recorded, and you can watch the videos at any time. Each module has video, slide handouts and a worksheet to implmement what you’ve learned. Videos are 12-20 minutes in length.

Can I access this course at any time?

Yes. After payment you will have a digital download (make sure to download when you purchase the course!) with instructions on how to log into the program. You can go at your own rate and access the course anytime (you don’t need to take it now).

Who is this class for?

This class is especially for SLPs who work in pediatric settings, with suggestions for private practice, outpatient and school settings who want to learn more about grief, loss and trauma and to develop a toolbox of “use them now” strategies for sessions.

Who is this class not for?

This course is not for SLPs who work with adults, as the information presented references children from preschool to high school age. This class is not for people who aren’t interested in trauma or doing things at an individual level to support students experiencing trauma. If you want to attend a live class where you can interact with others taking the class and ask the teacher questions, this is not your class - videos are pre-recorded and you can take this class on-demand. If you don’t like me (Sarah) or how I teach (see my Instagram or Podcast for more), this likely isn’t the class for you.

Is this class for SLPAs?
Yes, SLP Assistants could totally implement these practices, as long as their supervising SLP was on board.

Is this class for parents?
No, this class is targeted to SLPs.

Can I get a refund?

Due to the digital nature of this product, no refunds will be given.
